Game Servers & Forum Rules for all TU Members, Citizens, and Guests

To create an enjoyable gaming experience for all ages, the following game server, forum, and ventrilo server rules will be enforced.

Language

Verbal abuse by anyone towards anyone is not allowed. We expect all visitors at TU to act in a respectful and responsible manner.

Derogatory or slanderous language and comments about race, gender, sexual preference, religion, or creed will not be tolerated.

Excessive profanity is not allowed. The occasional curse word is ok, but if its use becomes excessive then a player will be asked to tone it down. One’s language should not become so disruptive that it causes annoyance or hardship to the majority of other players on the game server. Please understand that while this game is rated “M” for 18+ mature, the reality is that users of all ages may be logged in to game here at TU.


Sprays

We do not allow ANY nude or porn sprays (material) on our servers and forums.

We do not allow decoy sprays of Terrorists and/or Counter Terrorists on our server. This trick is considered cheap and unfair.

We do not allow sprays of any drugs on our servers and forums. Please refrain from spraying any decals with any drugs (i.e. marijuana, cocaine, drug paraphernalia, etc.)

We do not allow sprays that are intentionally meant to disturb and offend. This includes graphic images of violence, body fluids, graphic images of insects & animals, etc.

We do not allow sprays that use profanity.


Offensive Names

Names intentionally meant to offend are prohibited. Players with names that include racist overtones, explicit sexual references, curse words, drug usage/drug paraphernalia, and other blatant offensive themes will be asked to change their handle. If the name is not changed, administrative action will be made to automatically change the handle name.


Recruiting and Advertising

While all gaming clans and community members are encouraged to enjoy our servers and forums, we ask that there be no outside recruiting by other clans on TU servers. Please recruit members outside of our servers, and by means other than the in-game MIC or the in-game chat. This in includes advertising other server IP’s and clan websites.


MIC and Chat usage

TU is a pub server, not a scrim match. Our intentions are to create an enjoyable public gaming experience for all players. All Talk has been enabled to encourage a laid back pub atmosphere. Please keep conversations respectful. Be mindful that it is easy to ruin an otherwise enjoyable gaming experience with excessive noise. Please limit talking when asked to do so.

When dead in game, do not ghost by giving positions or strategies to live players intentionally over the mic. Failure to comply with this rule will result in your removal from the server.

If you want to disable voice communication in game you can type “voice_enable 0” in your console. This will disable all in-game mics. You can also press esc and access the player list menu to mute individual gamers.


CS:S in game Rate standards
TU will enforce the following rates on the game server.
Rate Minimums: 20 (cl_updaterate), 30 (cl_cmdrate), 10000 (rate)
Rate Maximums: 100 (cl_updaterate, 101 (cl_cmdrate), 30000 (rate)

If your rates do not fall within these ranges an admin will ask you to change them. Please comply.


Cheating / Hacking

TU has a no tolerance policy regarding hacking in the TU server. TU will not tolerate cheating/ hacking amongst members and non-members alike.

Disabling certain client-side CVARS on maps that require (or rely upon) them is also considered cheating. An example would be to turn off FOG on a map that relies on FOG.

Map exploits are not allowed unless specifically approved by TU.
Ghosting is prohibited.
Flashboosting or bomb plant boosting is prohibited.


Ventrilo Server

1. Our Ventrilo Voice Server mirrors the in-game rules found on our CS:S game server. However, more relaxed language restriction channels do exist within the Vent Server. If you enter the Vent Server and are sensitive to profanity, please ensure you are not in channels designated for the relaxed language restrictions.

2. Please note, if a user in the Vent Server creates an obnoxious or disruptive environment, please post a report in our forums. Disruptive and inappropriate behavior that is deemed offensive will not be tolerated and can result in removal privileges to the Vent Server.

3. Ghosting is prohibited on the vent server. If you are found to be ghosting from the vent server you may lose your connection privileges.


Discipline Procedures

The membership of TU will follow these guidelines when dealing with those who choose not to adhere to the rules listed above.

1. Our first response is to always give a warning
2. If the warning is ignored then we will kick a player from the server
3. If a player returns to the server and continues with the same behavior then we will ban that player.

We reserve the right to skip the first and second options based on the offense and the history of the person in question.

Remember, while on our servers the admins have the final word. If you believe you were treated unfairly then appeal your case on our web forums. Arguing with an admin over the server will only result in your immediate removal from the gaming server to restore the atmosphere back to a friendly gaming environment
